Recognizing AI benefits is a must
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a customized solution meant to mimic the cognitive functions of the human brain to solve problems and achieve goals. It is made to make people`s lives easier and to free their time to do valuable tasks at work or home. AI is also very efficient in different areas of businesses like Healthcare, Retail, Marketing, Law, etc. AI adoption in Businesses and organizations is most commonly in investing in automation for customer service needs—for example, chatbots and virtual assistants, etc.
The benefits are many and can be customized based on what services business leaders want to provide to their customers. However, there seems to be one main issue when it comes to AI – adoption. This is where we can help – here is Digitech’s Plan for AI adoption.
‘What is the main bottleneck holding back further AI adoption?’ (1)
In 2019, O’Reilly asked this simple question. The top two answers – companies didn’t yet recognize:
- The need for AI, and
- Data Related Issues.
In 2021, most companies have recognized the need for AI – a PwC study finds that in 2020, 52% of companies put more effort into AI. In 2021, 86% of companies stated that AI is now mainstream in their processes (2).
When a business these days is looking to delve into AI, need recognition is no longer an issue. However, the second issue pointed out in 2019, is still here in 2021 – Data Issues.
Data quality to scale
AI is only as good as the data it’s being given. And the abundance of data we have these days does not guarantee quality. Businesses should aim to acquire quality data, that is then segmented, labelled, and structured. Relevant data collection and data cleansing projects are necessary to provide verified data good enough to be used for the purpose of AI automation.
An important step for organizations in dealing with the huge amount of data in a diverse, complicated, and difficult-to-monitor IT landscape is AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations). A platform that incorporates and processes data from other siloed applications needs to be put in place to guarantee the proper data usage, analytics, and automated decision-making and solutions. (3)
Importance of the Expertise and Planning
Another part of our advice for AI adoption is knowledge. The C-suite and upper and lower management should prepare themselves with information on the latest development in technologies. Consultants and developers are the folks who will work to develop and integrate the systems, and they can and should give you any detail that is necessary. Workforce reception is key towards proper AI implementation, and leaders should put in the effort to be an example.
Next, any business wishing to work with AI has to create a plan with the help of their consultants. AI is a journey, and an action plan detailing areas of focus in the business is crucial. The speed at which implementation needs to be done, the way in which staff is educated, and the budgeting are also crucial (5).
This leads to the final part of the to-do list of adopting AI – hiring the right people. 68% of businesses report a moderate-to-extreme skill gap in AI (4). We at Digitech Consult understand the point of view of a business seeking to implement AI, as we have worked with such businesses many times. That is why we aim to provide a stress-free, low-involvement way to integrate AI. Get in touch to discuss our plan or your needs.
